PlanMEET

Safety Centre

PlanMEET is a platform where people share plans in order to meet in real life. That calls for more care than an online-only app. What follows are not rules but advice drawn from experience.

Staying safe online

Women-only plans

When you choose the "Women-only" preset while creating a plan, two rules apply together: only women members can send a request to join, and only accounts that have completed profile verification are shown.

  • Turn on the "Women-only" filter in the feed to see only these plans.
  • The decision to accept a join request always stays with the plan owner.
  • A guest (+1) request is shown separately to the plan owner; because a guest cannot be verified, that acceptance is a deliberate choice.
  • A verification badge indicates the person matches their photo; it is not a guarantee of behaviour.

Protect your account

Anyone who gets into your account can send messages in your name and reach the people you matched with.

  • Choose a strong password you do not use anywhere else.
  • PlanMEET will never ask you for your password. Anyone who does is a fraudster.
  • Verify your e-mail address — account recovery works through it.

Recognise fake accounts

Fake accounts usually follow the same patterns.

  • The profile has a single photo and it looks like a professional shoot.
  • The conversation moves very fast and becomes intensely close within a short time.
  • A video call is postponed every time with some excuse.
  • They want to move the conversation to WhatsApp or Telegram straight away.

Suspicious links

PlanMEET never sends you links other than verification codes.

  • Do not click shortened links sent in a conversation.
  • Do not enter your details on sign-in pages that look like PlanMEET but open on a different address.
  • Make sure your browser address bar says planmeet.app.

The first meeting

Before meeting

Do not rush. A plan does not have to happen today.

  • Get to know them by messaging inside the app; the way someone talks says a lot.
  • Hold the first meeting in a crowded, public place.
  • Tell someone close to you where you are going, with whom, and when.
  • Arrange your own transport; do not let them pick you up from home.
  • Do not share your home or work address at the first meeting.

During the meeting

You are free to leave the moment you feel uncomfortable. You do not owe anyone an explanation.

  • Make sure your phone is fully charged.
  • Keep your drink in sight at all times.
  • Keep your alcohol consumption under control.
  • In an emergency, call 112.

Money and fraud

Never send money to anyone you meet through PlanMEET, however convincing it sounds.

Never send money

There is no valid reason to send money to someone you met through PlanMEET.

  • Requests for money on an emergency pretext (hospital, accident, customs, a ticket)
  • Investment, cryptocurrency or "guaranteed returns" offers
  • Requests to open a joint account or share card details
  • Asking you to buy event tickets
  • Sending extra money and asking for a "refund" (fake payment)

What to do about blackmail attempts

If you were asked to share private images and then threatened, paying does not resolve it; it usually invites more of the same.

  • Do not pay.
  • Keep screenshots of the conversation.
  • Report and block the user through PlanMEET.
  • Contact law enforcement.

Plan safety

On PlanMEET meetings are built around an activity, and every activity carries its own risk. “Meet in a public place” is not enough advice for a plan that heads out to open sea on a boat.

Boats and water activities

  • Make sure there are life jackets on board.
  • At open sea you have no option to leave — be sure you know who you are with.
  • Ask whether the skipper is licensed.
  • Tell someone close to you the departure time and the harbour.

Hiking and camping

  • Find out the difficulty level of the trail in advance.
  • There may be areas with no signal; share your route beforehand.
  • Carry your own water and basic supplies.
  • Plan to be back before dark.

Nightlife

  • Watch your drink being made and keep it in sight.
  • Plan your way home in advance.
  • If you are with a group, do not leave the group.

Travel and distant locations

  • Arrange your accommodation yourself and in your own name.
  • Buy your return ticket in advance.
  • Never hand your passport or ID to anyone.
  • Leave the full address and dates with someone close to you.

Sport and physical activities

  • Do not push yourself into an activity above your level.
  • Confirm that the necessary safety equipment will be provided.
  • Mention any health condition that limits you in advance.

Report a problem

Report violations when you see them — it stops the same person from harming others. Reporting and blocking are always free.
