The basic safety rules to follow in order to protect yourself and others while using PlanMEET.
PlanMEET's role and its limits
PlanMEET is a platform that helps users find one another and share plans. PlanMEET does not organise, supervise or attend the meetings users hold in real life.
This sentence is not written to avoid responsibility but to inform you accurately: the decision to meet is yours, and the safety precautions are yours to take.
Account security
- Choose a strong password you do not use anywhere else.
- Do not share your password with anyone. PlanMEET will never ask you for your password under any circumstances.
- Verify your e-mail address — account recovery works through it.
- Do not click links from people you do not know; PlanMEET never sends you links other than verification codes.
Before meeting
- Get to know the other person by messaging before you meet; do not rush.
- Hold the first meeting in a crowded, public place.
- Tell someone close to you where you are going, with whom, and when.
- Arrange your own transport; do not let them pick you up.
- Do not share your home or work address at the first meeting.
During the meeting
- Make sure your phone is fully charged.
- Keep your drink in sight at all times.
- Keep your alcohol consumption under control.
- Leave the moment you feel uncomfortable. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
- In an emergency, call 112.
After the meeting
- If you had a bad experience, report the user — this prevents the same person from harming others.
- If you want to cut off contact, block the user.
- Be honest when leaving a rating; community trust depends on it.
