Account and Data Deletion

How to delete your account and what happens to your data afterwards.

Version 1.1 · Last updated 2026-08-22

How to delete your account

You can delete your account inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. The action requires a two-step confirmation. You do not need to contact us to request deletion.

What happens immediately after the request

  • Your account becomes unusable at once and all your sessions are closed.
  • Your profile becomes invisible to other users.
  • Your active plans are removed from discovery.
  • You can no longer receive join requests or messages.

What happens within 30 days

Within 30 days of your deletion request, your profile details, photos, plans, messages and matches are permanently deleted. This window exists in case you want to withdraw your request.

This is not done by hand but by a scheduled cleanup job: your name is replaced with "Deleted user" and your e-mail with an irreversible value; date of birth and gender are anonymised; photos are removed from storage; plan text is cleared; behavioural traces such as likes, saves and passes are removed.

Records that are not deleted

The records below continue to be retained even after your account is deleted. We state this openly because claiming that "everything is deleted completely" would not be true:

  • Invoice and payment records that tax and commercial legislation requires us to keep
  • Open, unresolved reports filed about you
  • Moderation records underlying a permanent ban decision — without such a record a banned user could simply open a new account
  • Copies of messages other users received from you, which live in their own accounts

Download your data first

We recommend downloading a copy of your data before deleting your account: Settings → Privacy and Security → Download my data. After deletion this data cannot be recovered.
